Coosaw Creek Country Club is a gated golf course community located in North Charleston, South Carolina.  The Arthur Hills designed Golf Course is a regionally recognized course, voted
the Charleston Area’s Best Golf Course in 2014.  The neighborhood was developed by Greenwood Development in 1992 and it has been owned by the residents since 2007.  

What Makes Coosaw Creek Country Club So Unique?

There are no other country club communities in the Charleston tri-county area that are owned by the residents.  When Greenwood Development drew up the original By-Laws for the neighborhood, they included a provision which allowed for the residents to have the first right of refusal should they ever decide to sell off the Club.  This is just what happened in 2007 and, with a narrow margin vote, the residents voted to purchase the Club and manage it themselves.  This is done by a Board of Directors that is made up of property owners who direct and oversee the operations of the Country Club.  This includes the clubhouse, the restaurant, the golf course, and all of the amenities.

What people love about the neighborhood is the sense of community that it offers with all of the community events centered around the country club.  For the golf enthusiast, you’ll enjoy unlimited rounds of golf…for the entire family! 

In addition to golf, the community also has newly-refurbished tennis courts, basketball courts, pickleball as well as a Jr. Olympic-size swimming pool plus a child’s splash pad and a neighborhood play park.  Social activities are themed around holidays with events such as
Breakfast With Santa, Easter Egg hunts and Brunch with the Easter Bunny, Memorial and Labor Day Cookouts poolside, Fall Carnival Festival, Back-to-School Bash with a professional fireworks display plus, many other poolside events throughout the pool season.  In the summer months, the Club offers their “Cinematic Series” of family-friendly movies at the pool and concessions which is always a huge hit for families with children.

Activities Offered Within the Community

Located in the Clubhouse, The Palmetto Grill is open daily, Tuesday through Sunday.  It features lunch and dinner specials as well as weekly dining specials on certain evenings.  There are also dining events throughout the year such as Valentine’s Dinner, St. Patrick’s Day, monthly Wine
Dinners, outdoor Oysters Roasts on the patio as well as Beer Tastings for
Oktoberfest, just to name a few.

Members enjoy unlimited rounds of golf annually at no additional charge plus access to beautiful locker room facilities and a pro shop.  There is a one-time “Equity Membership” fee due when you purchase your home in Coosaw Creek.  There is also an annual fee which breaks down to a very affordable amount for unlimited golf as well as access to all other amenities.  A Capital Reserve Fee was implemented in 2023 to aid in funding capital expenditures as the facilities age.  There is also a quarterly food minimum for dining expenditures at the Club.   

A Gated Golf Course Community 

Coosaw Creek is a 24-hour gated community with manned security guards for added peace of mind that your community is a secured one.  The POA (Property Owner’s Association) oversees the gatehouse as well as the common areas throughout the neighborhood. 

Every home in Coosaw Creek is behind the security gate unlike other gated neighborhoods throughout the area which offer gated “sections”.

Coosaw Creek Country Club is located primarily in Dorchester county with the majority of homesites located in Dorchester county and 6 homesites located in Charleston county.  For those residents who reside in Dorchester county and have high school aged children, if their student attends Fort Dorchester High School, there is walk-in gate access to the school on Arthur Hills Circle via a secured key fob.  This makes for easy access to the high school for your student to be dropped off/picked up at the gate without having to leave the neighborhood.

Coosaw Creek Country Club is conveniently located in lower Dorchester county off Dorchester Rd and Patriot Blvd.  It is approximately a 15-20 min drive to the Charleston International Airport, 30 min drive to downtown Charleston, approximately a 40 min drive to the area beaches in Mt. Pleasant and 50 min drive to Folly Beach.

The North Charleston/Dorchester District 2 Aquatic Center is located just outside the gates and next to Fort Dorchester High School.  A great addition to the city of North Charleston and a fabulous facility for our local community.
